2. Information We Collect
We collect information needed to run the service:
- Account information: email address, encrypted password, and sign-in/session metadata.
- Signal data you create: signals, logs, fasting data, and related timestamps.
- Technical and security data: device identifiers, IP address, user agent, and authentication logs.
- Support communications: messages you send us directly.
On web, we use only necessary cookies for authentication and basic app behavior (for example, time-zone preference). We do not use advertising cookies.
3. How We Use Information
- Provide and maintain Pattern, including sync across your devices.
- Authenticate your account and secure access.
- Deliver transactional communications (for example, sign-in and security emails).
- Monitor reliability and troubleshoot errors.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
4. What We Do Not Do
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- We do not include third-party ad pixels, ad SDKs, or retargeting tags.
- We do not ask mobile users for app-tracking permission for advertising purposes.
- We do not build advertising profiles about you.
5. When We Share Information
We share information only in limited cases:
- Service providers acting on our behalf (such as hosting, transactional email delivery, and error monitoring).
- Legal compliance or safety needs (for example, responding to lawful requests).
- A business transfer such as merger, acquisition, or asset sale, with protections for your information.
We require service providers to protect information and use it only for authorized purposes.
6. Data Retention
- Account and signal data are retained while your account is active.
- Security and operational logs are retained for limited periods reasonably necessary for fraud prevention, debugging, and reliability.
- If you request deletion, we will delete or de-identify your personal data from active systems within 30 days, subject to legal exceptions.
- Backups may take additional time to roll off under standard backup cycles.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we continuously work to protect the service.
8. Your Choices and Rights
You can request account access, correction, export, or deletion by emailing [email protected]. You can also delete your account directly in the app from Settings. We target an initial response within 7 days for email requests.
We send only transactional/service emails, not marketing campaigns. If your jurisdiction gives additional privacy rights, you may exercise them through the same contact.
9. Children
Pattern is not directed to children under 13, and you must be at least 13 to use the service. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us and we will address it.
10. International Use
Pattern is based in the United States. If you access the service from outside the United States, you understand your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and provide notice as appropriate in the app or on the website.
